Afflictors are darker arts entities from the Void. While Void Fiends are dark arts, Afflictors are darker but not black arts. These entities specialize in baneful magicks; tearing down protections, removing wards, induce fear, nightmares, induce depression, and much more. They can keep their human companion safe from metaphysical danger and perhaps mundane as well. Warning you of nearby danger or when a metaphysical attack is coming.
Afflictors are not for the faint heart as their appearance can be unnerving and unsettling. They can appear like a typical zombie, an undead decaying human, a human with disease, have sharp nails, needle point teeth, etc. Their appearance is varied and while they may look off-putting they can be very empathetic entities.
Being an Afflictor has shown them the bad of the universe. They know humans struggle with mental illness and physical illness as well. Knowing this gives them a viewpoint unique to their race as they can meet you on equal ground, help you with your shadow work, face your “demons” so to speak, and conquer your fears. Just because they are baneful does not mean they do not have beneficial qualities and traits.
If you’re an intermediate Spirit Keeper, Necromancer, Death Witch, Psychopomp, Dark Arts, or Black Arts practitioner this race would certainly help you. They can keep you protected during seances, calling of the dead, helping a soul to pass on, and other metaphysical situations that can put you at risk.
